Our client is a market leading HVAC services provider across a diverse range of markets.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Key Account Manager to take ownership of customer relationships and drive service excellence across New Zealand.
The Role
Based in Christchurch, this role will see you managing strategic accounts, expanding the service footprint, and delivering exceptional customer value at a national level.
You will be the primary point of contact for some of our client’s largest and most strategic accounts, working to deepen partnerships, identify new opportunities, and coordinate seamless service execution across multiple regions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with national and strategic HVAC customers.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, understanding their business needs and aligning service solutions accordingly.
- Drive service contract sales, including preventative maintenance and minor works, to grow revenue and contract base.
- Collaborate closely with operations, technical teams, and regional service managers to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Lead contract negotiations, tender responses, and pricing strategies to secure and retain major accounts.
- Monitor account performance, manage budgets, and analyse service trends to identify growth opportunities.
- Advocate for customers internally, ensuring high standards of communication, responsiveness, and problem resolution.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HVAC industry trends, technical developments, and competitive landscape.
- Promote compliance with health, safety, and quality standards across all service delivery activities.
Skills And Experience
- Proven experience in key account management or national account management within HVAC or related building services.
- Strong understanding of HVAC service offerings, maintenance contracts, and minor works.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex accounts across multiple locations or regions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience with contract negotiation and financial management.
- Ability to analyse customer data, service metrics, and financial reports to drive decision-making.
- Relevant industry qualifications and technical knowledge highly regarded.
- A customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering value and building trust.
- Experience working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.
